I haven't been able to get my computer to see the shares of 2 other computers on a larger network. I am running windows XP pro, and I cannot be seen on the network either. I need to map a network drive, so I can't do it without being able to recognize a shared folder. can anyone help?

thanks.

Just something to add. There's a 3rd computer which connects to the same LAN, that one has win 2000 on it, and is properly networked to connect to the older of the two computers. They could find eachother in the workgroup lookup. The new computer can't connect to either one of these. When I lookup on the Lan, I see various workgroup, but this one's the only computer in the workgroup whereas there should be two more. I also can't directly ping any one of the other two machines, though, I can use remote desktop to connect.

How can I get my computer to be recognized by the other 2?

It sounds like it might be a software firewall issue. If you are running Zone Alarm or some other firewall, try turning it off.
