Can't use parameters in Remedy 5.X

When adding reports to Remedy you can no longer use the parameters in Crystal reports. In older versions of Remedy you could, now Remedy completely ignores the parameters. On a SQL 2000 DB can you use the Connection String in the ODBC configuration?
