hello experts,

i am trying to connect my dual boot PC to the internet. my windows2k runs great - i can use it to dialup tot the internet. i am using usrobotics courier v. everything modem. but for unknown reason to me, i can't connect my linux-madrake 8.0 to use the dialup. i provided same information as what i have in my win2k environment.

how can i check my modem using "cu" or are there any other tools? or should i say - iam i missing something here?

i'm getting:

The system doesn't seem to be connected to internet.
Try to configure your connection.

but, i did configure my linux-mandrake 8.0 for dialup.

1. mandrake control center
2. connection
3. new profile
4. name of the profile
5. provided the details; phone #, user ID & password

i even checked one-by-one;

com1 = cua0 *
com2 = cua1
com3 = cua2
com4 = cua3

* my current config

i would appreciate receiving any feedback from anybody.
