Can't uninstall

No matter what I try, I cannot uninstall Preinstalled version of Mcafee. The machine is a XP, so If anyone has any ideas,please help.

What version? It's pre-installed right? Should be able to find the uninstall program in the Add/Remove Programs icon.

I have tried several times, either by add/remove and by the mcafree program itself. both error out during the uninstall. Any other suggestions?

Downtime, did you manage to remove the pre-installed version yet?

If not, which version came pre-installed on your computer or, if you do not know the version, more or less when did you purchase your computer?
