Can't uninstall Outlook 2003...

I'm trying to uninstall and reinstall Outlook 2003.

When I run the "Add/Delete" software from control panel I get an error message: This package could not be opened. Verify that the package patch exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.

Any ideas??????????????

How was outlook installed? Was it installed as part of office or standalone? What OS?

I originally installed OfficePro 2000, including Outlook.

Because of advanced features in Outlook 2003, and some issues with my corporate POP server, I purchased an OEM copy of OL 2003 and installed it. At that point everything worked fine. Several months passed and last week I could no longer open .tif file attachments from my efax. Talked to my corporate tech guy who said the system was probably confused because of 2000/2003 and that I should uninstall and get Office 2003.

I uninstalled 2000, no problem. I attempted to uninstall Outlook 2003 and it won't let me, I get the error message above.

I don't recall making any changes to the system prior to the OL problems starting.

Try installing Office 2003 over what you have and see what happens. You should not have had to uninstall anything as Office would have upgraded everything for you.

I actually got it fixed. Thank you for your assistance.

I downloaded a third party uninstaller called "Your Uninstaller 2006" from download.com. The trial version is free. I used it to remove 2000 and Outlook 2003 and clean up the registry entries (which I think were the problem). I then reinstalled Outlook and Office 2000 and everything works fine.
