Hi, I am trying to connect to my system via telnet and I am getting a MSG :Couldn't open connection to a host on a port. I can ping that IP address.
I went thru the old posts,but still can't figure out why I can't connect to it.

Thanks

NIU or NIU/2?

did you try with a crosscable?

It is an NIU2. I can't connect to the system using a crossover cable. It seems to be able to connect thru the hub.

It looks like that port is down. I don't have any connectivity to that port. Tried to reset it still can't connect to it and can't even ping it anymore.
Thanks.

Please verify/check your IP-address, subnet mask and default gateway.
Then logon through a serial cable in SYSTERMINAL (Upper port on e.g. NIU) to check these settings:

IODDP should say IN SERVICE:
<IODDP;
I/O DEVICE DATA
NODE IODEV/SUBFS BPOS/EQU I/O-BUS TYPE/USAGE STATUS AUTH
SYSN - 001-0-60 - - IN SERVICE
SYSN SYSDISK1 001-0-60-0 SCSI/3 ADTX IN SERVICE
SYSSUBFS11
SYSSUBFS21
TM-SUBFS
SYSN SYSTERMINAL 001-0-60-1 - MML - 7
SYSN SYSTERMINAL1 001-0-60-2 - MML - 7
SYSN SYSTERMINAL2 001-0-60-3 - MML - 7
SYSN SYSNET 001-0-60-4 - NETWORK/OUT IN SERVICE
SYSN TELNETMML0 001-0-60-4 - NETWORK/MML - 7

IONPP;
Shold show correct LAN configuration.

Otherwise:
Try to restart some programs.
TWP3, NIP and FIP and maybe the NIU board.
BR doktor

Thanks, IODDP and IONPP look OK. I will try to restart NIU.
Is the ELU32 hot pluggable?

all md110 cards are normally hot pluggable.
please post a new thread for new questions please...

Thanks. I just wanted to try to reset ELU32, since it has the ethernet port on it and maybe it will clear my problem.
