We have a tech who has a laptop (Windows XP Pro) that can't talk
to BCM's. He can get into the CallPilot/BRU/Wizards/Doc's/Maintenance,
but not the Configure section.

The Java is current and the latest version, the Java web start is in there as well.

When you attempt to go into the 'configure' section, the java starts for about 1 to 1.5 seconds and disappears and the screen stays blank and does not go any farther.

I have verified all the computer settings (Java, explorer, pop up blockers, firewall off etc) are the same as my Dell and I have no problems.

What could I be missing? Could it be the computer?

Thanks in advance

is he using IE or Netscape ...
is the java plug in enabled?
try uninstall/ reinstall java again

I've had problems with firefox

I had the same issues, and I managed to resolve this by disabling the proxy server on my laptop.

Hope this helps.

He is using Internet Explorer. I believe the Java plug is
enabled (I will have him check that).

To option11newby: where would you disable the proxy server
on the laptop. I am unfamiliar with where that setting is
and what it does.

If you select tools ----- options ----- connection settings tab at the top. Then click on the lan settings button about half way down the page you will proxy settings.

if your bcm is on the local network the proxy shouldnt matter, but if its not local then it would. Saying this just incase there is another issue. I dont use IE, but have seen where the java plug in conflicts with one of the updates windows puts out, and you have to remove the update and reinstall java.

All network is working laptop get to and out, computer set up for network, ping all, know your ip,Then ran Uninstall
wizard,Then reinstall and check,
