Help!

I enabled debug all on a Cisco Catalyst 4506 IOS 12.1. It dropped my telnet session. I can no longer ping it's address, nor can I telnet to it. I connected a console cable to the chasis and can view the logging info rush by in hyperterminal.
I can not break to the command line to turn the logging off. I don't want to reset the switch.

Any help would be greatly apreciated!

you dont need to stop the terminal line to type in the command. Just log in, type config t, then no debug all and it should stop. Even if your command gets interupted, it will still be ok. The switch doesnt see the interuptions as part of the command. Just type away and ignore all the stuff on the screen.
Just out of curiosity, why would you type 'debug all'?

Degg,

I didn't see the debug info scrolling by on the screen until I connected with a console cable/laptop. I can no longer ping the IP address of the switch. No keystrokes are being accepted by the switch with hyperterminal. I was telnetted to the switch when I typed the command.
I am not sure what possessed me to type debug all. I will not do that again!

Thanks.

debug all, very bad command.

To see debug output on a telnet session, you must type "term mon" at the # prompt.

To turn off all debugging, just type "u all" which is short for undebug all.

You will most likely just have to reset your switch.. You might want to schedule an unexptected downtime.. heh..
