Client has been running Great Plains 6.0 on Pervasive SQL 2000i SP3 for some time now... all AOK... now they've got an XP Pro workstation, and we're trying to install the Pervasive client to it... the progress bar goes from 0 to 100% very quickly, but we don't see any other "installation configuration" screens. It just goes back to the desktop.
Here are some things we've tried:
1. Logged on as administrator
2. Copied the PVSW\Clients\Win folder to the local drive
3. Changed Local Security Policy to "Classic" from "Guest." (This was under Local Security Policy > Sharing and Security Model for Local Accounts
4. Disabled Microsoft's new Spyware
5. Disabled Norton's antivirus service
6. Tried having the user run the setup.exe himself (I was trying this remotely using a remote control tool called eBlvd.)
The workstation has 256mb of RAM, and Windows Service Packs except SP2 (think THAT will be a problem?)
One specific question comes to mind: SHOULD I be able to run P.SQL 2000i SP3 on XP? (I've seen references that say I CAN run that Pervasive CLIENT under XP.)
Am I missing something obvious, or have I hit one of those incompatible black holes?
Thanks!
