hi,

I installed redhat and used medium firewall setting, however I cannot seem to ssh to port 22. What do i have to do to allow myself to ssh in remotely?

You'll need to open that port on the firewall. What version of RedHat? I ask because we need to know if your using ipchains or iptables. iptables started with the 2.4 kernel, so I think anything after RH71 uses iptables.

I have version redhat7.3

I ran iptables-save >/filename

But when i pico /filename its blank. Got any tips?

Try this...

/sbin/iptables -A ptcp -p tcp --dport 22 -m state --state NEW -j ACCEPT
