Can't specify shortcuts for Character and Para styles!!!!

I cannot do this. When I am in the Para or Character style palette, whenever I try to set a short cut, nothing appears in the field for keyboard shortcut.

I think this may be to do with the fact that I am using a Powerbook (G4), which lacks the numerical keys (as per a desktop keyboard). I used to use the numerical pad in Quark for setting keyboard shortcuts for Para and Character styles.

Any ideas on how to get around this?

You should have a numlock ability on the Powerbook, right? Something that lets you use some mid-keyboard keys as a numeric keyboard? If not then I think you're SOOL. You'd need a little USB numeric keypad.
