Can't shutdown properly after install of Linksys 802.11b ME os

My home pc was woking fine prior to my ethernet card and 802.11b linksys wireless router. I had good connections to the internet on both my home pc and laptop. When I went to shutdown the PC hangs for approx 5 sec then restarts itself.
I don't want to shutdown hard and damage my hard drive. Any thoughts that could hlp would be greatly appreciated. Regards, fishingvt

sounds like resources conflicts.check on your system tools and system info if you harve hardware resource sharing and conflicts. also check if your nic has WOL enabled and disable that.
