I'm only a web devoloper, my server (FreeBSD 5.3) is hosted by another company, so I don't have a direct access to qmail, I can only use it from remote.

This is the question: I have a mailing list of 100000 users, and qmail works fine when I send my emails to all remote addresses, but doesn't work when he has to send email to domains hosted on the sending server.

That is, I send from 212.35.214.101 and qmail doesn't send to all domains hosted on 212.35.214.101.

Do you know what the problem may be?

Thank you in advance

Aldo

Aldo,
First, congrats on using qmail, being a webmaster, and having 100K mail recipients! They're all legitmate right!?

OK, so let's take a stab at why local user delivery isn't working....

You need to have a Maildir structure defined for each user on the local machine.

The Maildir needs to be writable by the appropriate qmail user. (qmaill in most installs)

The /var/qmail/control/rcpthosts needs to contain the domain name you are using for local delivery. The name of the email recipient on the local domain needs to match a local system user in "/etc/passwd". Local user needs to have a Maildir.

Finally, make sure the /var/qmail/control/locals contains the domain that you are trying to make local delivery for in this case.

Check these and let us know.
