Can't send email to GoDaddy addresses

I'm not sure if this is an Exchange issue or a TrendMicro issue, but we have TrendMicro set up on an Exchange server, and it is configured to send email notifications when a virus is found.

One of the recipients of the email notifications is a person with a GoDaddy email account. Unfortunately, none of these notifications are being sent to the GoDaddy email address.

We CAN send an email from the Exchange Server to the GoDaddy email address... just can't have a notification sent from TrendMicro.

I saw something somewhere that said GoDaddy does not accept "SMTP email"... but I'm not sure how to interpret that.

Any suggestions? I've seen a lot of people having problems with GoDaddy email... is there an alternative?

I would say: did you ask GoDaddy?
And what do you mean with "is there an alternative?"
Only a few thousands of alternatives, it's just mail...

If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, expect random guesses or no replies at all.

Have you checked your SMTP logs? They usually will indicate if there is an error transmitting the message.

smtpdiag.exe is helpfull when trying to resolve these issues. It's possible that it is blocking it based on the sender's address, etc. smtpdiag.exe will give you the reasons the message is being rejected...if it is being rejected.

If a message is blocked, any 'normal' server will return you an error.
Try using anything else as an address (hotmail or so) instead of GoDaddy, if that works, the problem is with them, in which case contact them or use another, trustworthy service.

You might also want to double-check and triple-check that the godaddy email address doesn't have a typo. We had this same problem (not with godaddy address specifically) and it turned out the vendor had a typo in the email address.
