Good evening from Wisconsin,

I have a client with a Fuji Finepix A500 digital camera that he hooks up to his Windows XP PC using a USB cable to copy images to his computer. Using Windows Explorer, he can drag one image at a time from his camera to his PC just fine, but when he selects multiple images using Ctrl-leftclick and then tries to copy, he receives an error saying "0002/Root/FILENAME.JPG - Path not found".

Perhaps related to this issue is that the PC will only recognize the camera if the camera is set to PictBridge mode, not DSC as it should be.

A search on Google for the above error only found one reference at experts-exchange.com and those answers were directed towards Visual Basic programmers, which I am not.

Does anyone here have any ideas what could be happening, and how to resolve this issue?

Thank you in advance,

Try highlighting one file, then using SHIFT + arrow down or arrow up to see of you can select multiple files that way. Alternatively, you could get a card reader and get the images off of the card instead of the camera.

If the camera uses a mem Card the easiest way would be to get a Card reader and transfer the images that way. They are very cheap these days and support a wide variety of mem cards.

Otherwise, maybe downloading an updated drever and software may work.

sounds like the USB Port is timing out...

suggestion:

the client should try a.) another port (preferable USB2.0 port), b) get a cheap PCI USB2.0 card and try it with that, c.) update ChipSet drivers, and of course the other suggestions by Vacunita and Wahnula...
