I'm having trouble connecting to a Vpn server, the Vpn connecton connects with no problem, I can ping the server and I can browse the server by it's ip address I can even map to it by it's ip address, but I can't connect to the server by it's name.

I am really stumped, I can connect with no problem using another computer behind the same router, and I have other computers at other locations that connect with no problem. It's just this one computer that can't resolve the servers name.

Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Vpn Server: Windows 2000 server
Clients: Xp
router: Linksys

where is your dns server? can you connect using the IP address?

My DNS server is my windows 2000 server and yes I can connect using the IP Address.

I finally found the problem this morning, I knew it had to be something simple that I was overlooking. The problem was the windows firewall was enabled.

Thanks for the help.
