Can't see Users in Sessions Tab, although they are logged in

This is really starting to bother me.

I have a Windows 2000 Server with Metaframe XP. Single server environment. I have about 15 users who log in every day, and only about 5-6 of them actually show up in the sessions tab. I can tell they're logged in because the licenses tab shows that the licenses have been used (and the processes show all the users who are logged in)

What this means is:
1) I can't tell who is logged in until I look at the processes.
2) I can't tell if they are logged in or disconnected.
3) I can't shadow them if necessary.
4) I can't reset their sessions

etc. etc. etc.

I have found NO information in the knowledge base. And Citrix is the least available technical support in the two universes. If anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

You can not see users nless they have opened any published application. A session is seen for each opened published application.

We are running multiple servers NT&win2k and have not seen what you describe. have you refreshed the screen? my understanding is every connection whether it is an ica or rdp requires a session and will show in that screen.

I'm seeing a simular situation using the CMC in that some users are not listed under the application, but show up under the processes tab when you select the server. Do have the same situation?

Have you refreshed the screen? Also, try restarting the IMA service.

Um, the screen refreshes every 30 seconds by default. And yes, I've manually refreshed as well.

We are not using puplished applications, they are connecting to a full desktop.

As I can see a few of the users in the sessions tab, it's obviously not true that you can only see users using a published application. I have used Citrix for 7 years, and that has never been the case.

It happens when I've recently rebooted the server as well as re-started to IMA service. So, that's not the answer either.

I believe that Kumphrey is experiencing the same issue as me, except I'm not looking at the applications, just the sessions window. The major problem is that I can't shadow these users if they aren't listed in the sessions tab. And that, is a pain in the butt.

Hi,

Have you service packed the CMC from the Citrix Service Pack CD?

That cured some of my issues with CMC!

Cheers,
Carl.
