I've created a cube in analysis manager, but now i can't see it neither from excel nor crystal analysis.

I've created all the roles and set to "everyone".

It's weird, because cubes that do not have roles defined appear in the list of available cubes in given databases, but my database does not show any cubes. Are there any steps necessary for me to be able to 'share' the cube with others?

Stupid question: Have you processed the cube?

Which version of Crystal Analysis are you using?

If you've specified a user name and password when you defined the connection to the server and you're using NTLM security then this might not work. If you leave them blank then connection is made using the NT integrated security and that should work assuming the cube has been processed and the current user has rights.
If you're using Kerberos then the user name and password can be honoured (I believe there's a white paper on the Crystal web-site about using Kerberos)

I'm using calculated members on the cube and in order for it to work i had to use version 8.0 of OLAP Services.

It's working great now in Crystal, but for some reason Excel is giving me problems. I can't see any of my calculated members, I get "#VALUE!" instead!

The calculated member calls an activeX control that performs additional processing on the values.

Have anyone experienced similar problem with ExcelXP and OLAP calculated members?

Unless something has changed in a service pack or hot fix that I am not aware of, excel will only recognize Calculated members that exist within the Measures dimension.

Crystal should be able to get the value of calculated members that are not on the measures dimension.
Do you get the values in other versions of the Crystal client?
