I'm using novell's client3.1. We are using a application call Hyperion within citrix. The problem is within hyperion i could only see 1 out of 4 printers. There all network printers through novell4.11 nds. Hyperion support told me the problems lies within citrix. There is a printer less than 10 feet away from my desk that i will like to print, but the printer does not appear. The only one it finds is a printer on a different floor and soon as i delete the printer no more printers show. Is this a citrix issue, novell client or print driver. Please help this issue is driving me nuts, thank you.

It all depends on how it is set up.

If the printer has been configured to work with the Citrix servers, it should show up within the ICA client.

If you are running the Hyperion application via an ICA client, and other Citrix-based applications can use the printer, then the problem lies with the application.

If the printer is available locally, but not at all via the Citrix client, then it hasn't been configured properly.

I assume it is a networked printer?

If it is a local printer, it will need to be configured to use the local lpt port through the ICA session.

I hope this helps

I can't even see my local printer in hyperion. How do i configure the ica session?

What do you mean about If the printer has been configured to work with the Citrix servers, it should show up within the ICA client. Can you just use any network printer? Im connecting to the citrix box through a WAN link. You know what's really strange is that a user next to me could print to the printer in question. Why is that? Do i need to reintall the citrix client? Any suggestions, thanks.

If a printer has been setup on the Citrix servers (correct driver, etc) then it will be available to the client.

Networked printers only autocreate in a client if a driver has been configured on the Citrix server, and the client already has a mapping to that printer.

I hope this helps
