HI

I hav a PIII win98/XP 64 MB RAM comp with the SONY CD-RW CRX230E Writer. When i write some data in different sessions , only the data
from the last session appears.(Both in Win98 and Win XP). I use Nero 6.
Also this problem does not seem to appear in CD_RW discs ....y?
From the net i found that the data in various sessions have
to be 'linked' to each other. How do i do this?

Also for the sake of seeing all the sessions , is it really necessary that The data from all previous sessions has to be be clubbed and written to the last session.?That way disc space can be saved rite?

How do i make sure that in the future CD-R's i write , i can see
the data from all the sessions?

Oops!!!!
The Subject should read " can see only last session in MultisessionCD" .Not as listed.
Sorry for the error.

I also use nero and only very occasional have I had problems with multisession cd's usually its a disk that is worn or scratched and I can't see the last session I made only a previous one.

What I think you might do wrong is that you need to use Contiune Multisession disc in Nero. It will then search your cd and show you the session it finds on the cd and should select the last one if not highlight it and click OK.

It will now load the data that is on the disc and if the cd and you can now drag new folders/files to the disc and it will add it to your disc and keep the old files.

If the disc was created in Nero it can update the old files on your cd with newer ones and you will find the new updated file on your cd (it will not overwrite the file so you do lose space all the time....).

Your old data should know be showing up when you put the cd in your computer and read from it.

That works for me 99.9% of the time...

Well i use continue multi session only.but still i see only the last session i write into! :(

From Nero 5.5 Help:
Q. Although I created a Multisession disc I can only see the last session. Why?
A. If your CD Recorder supports multisession, you can only read the last session of your CD on Windows 95/98and NT 4.0 and the first session on Windows 3.1x.
Nero gives you the solution: in Windows 95/98and NT 4.0, you can use the Nero Multi Mounter to switch to any other session of your Multisession CD.

Multimounter
The Multimounter is a program which is supplied with Nero . This program makes it possible to access sessions on a CD which were written earlier and all Windows programs only see the programs within the selected session.

You can select a session as follows:

In Windows Explorer use the right mouse button to click on the CD-ROM drive with the inserted CD.
In the menu which appears now, the entry properties .
In the dialog which appears now, the index card data medium .
In this dialog you can now determine the session which is to be visible for all programs.
Thus you have access to files you thought had been lost.
