HI!

I will try to explain my question despite I feel that I can't explain it has I would like.

The problem I have is this:

I have a homepage of my small business and webmail also at that adress, but the name of my internal network is the same. And because of that I can only view my site in the server. I know that I have to change some permissions in the security policies in the server but I don't know where.

Can somebody help me?

First, thanks a lot, that solved the problem...

But it did't solve it all...

I am now trying to solve another, that I thought it would have the same source. I have a ADSL connection in my 2k server and because I couldn't see my homepage and the webmail in the other computers, I couldn't configure the email program. But now that I can see,I thought that I could configure the email and it would be solved. But no. The problem persists. Is it something that I have to configure in the server? Or is it a problem of my connection (Because in all webmail's I can't write any email, I can only read them, because if I write some in a workstation it would take to long, and it will go time out...).

I have looked in the DNS, and there is something about mail exchanger... do I put the configuration of the pop3 of my homepage there?

Thanks once again...

Well we know that you can access your webserver. Assuming (and I hate to assume) that the web server also acts as your mail server we can test to see if it is a dns issue. To test whether or not this is a dns problem use or your servers ip address as the address for your mailserver (ie in outlook configure a new account using your login info). Put in the Incoming (pop3) and outgoing (smtp) servers. Does outlook send and receive properly now. If so, then add another host to your forward looking zone named mail with the address of your mail server. Then you can configure outlook or whatever email clients to use mail.yourdomainname.com for its pop3 and smtp servers. If in your external dns configuration you use another prefix other than mail then set up your host entry to reflect the prefix that you are already using in your external dns.
If you are still getting timeout errors when using either the or the ip address, then your problems most likely lie in the config of your mail server.

Thanks a lot again...

I have tryed to change the config in the outlook (changing the mail. to and it worked!

Thank you a lot!

Srd,
If that worked, then just add another host entry into your dns just like you did before(except use mail instead of
