I have installed Backup Agent for Exchange on my Exchange-Server 5.5 (SP4, running on NT 4.0 Sp5). On my backup-Server (NT 4.0, SP6a, Arcserve 2000) I can't see the Exchange Organisation in the Backup-Tree.
I also have installed the Arcserve Manager on another machine (W2K Workstation) to administer the Backup-Server. On this machine I find the Exchange Organisation and I can configure a Brick Level backup or a complete storage backup.
What must I do to see the Exchange Organisation on the backup-Server, too?

thx

whofner,

What you are trying to do is wrong.....

AS far my knowlwdge with this product goes, the backups you do using the Exchange organization, will have problems when doing a restore and the manager might keep closing out on you when you try to modify a job backing up the Exchange piece...

If you are backing up a Remote Exchange server, do it thru the network...

If local to ARCserve do it using My Computer, Never thru the organization...

May be its a li'l glitch in the GUI....

cheers

The only time the Exchange Organization Icon is only displayed on machines the are running the Exchange System Management tools (or something like that - it is explained in the manual of the agent I believe). The Icon of the Exchange Organization does not add any ability for backups though. I recommend what Specshalyst is stating for how to select Exchange.
