cant save variables

Trying to help out by partly populating a new Symposium over the weekend, how come it has saved my (begged, borrowed & stolen)scripts but will not save any variables?

("...has not been saved to symposium server")

Also,is it normal & does it matter that the scripts were automatically saved as secondaries?

are they secondaries of the master? check your admin rights on the varabiles.. you may not have edit privileges.. blocking the same instead of the create is not normal

When you begged, borrowed and stole your scripts, what format did you copy and paste them in? Did you use Word or another word processor like that which contains a bunch of hidden formatting characters? If you did, this can cause problems with your variables. You would need to redo your scripts, copy and paste them into Wordpad instead of Word, and create new script variables in the process.

I copied & pasted scripts into text files, mostly originated from .pdf files, then again into symposium. i now have a master and a bunch of secondaries - no primaries.

I'll have to get someone local to restart pc anywhere, (I think it gave up in disgust!) and check my admin rights.

I'm guessing they are secondires because the varibles have failed, so therefore the scripts have not been correctly validated and cannot become primaries.

It is normal for the scripts to show as secondaries at this point. Once you have them validated and entered into the Master Script, they will show as primaries.

As to the variables -- do you mean that you cannot build the variables? If so, can you post an example of what you're trying to build?

I hate to have to suggest this, but have you tried shutting down the services and rebooting?
