Can't save in Illustrator CS3

We've been trying all day to figure this one out, but we're stumped!

We are unable to save certain colours in Illustrator! First it was green, then it was yellow, then cyan, now magenta. I've read on other sites that you may have to delete all of your preferences in order to fix this problem, but we don't even know where to find the preferences page!

We tried re-installing Illustrator completely, but that didn't work.... could this be a virus? And how in the world could a virus run on colours?!

Reinstalling doesn't work because the preferences from the old installation remain intact.

Hi thanks for your suggestion!

Unfortunately it didn't work.... its definitely a problem with one of the colours.... any other thoughts on how we can get it up and running again?

...try copying all to a new document, then save that new file, via 'save as'...

...try both CS3 and CS2 versions upon save, then open both to see...

...try also saving to PDF with illustrator editing capabilities enabled...

...then open to see...
