cant save config in cisco 2600

hi,

I have a 2600 and tried saving my config (copy running-config startup-config) and every time after a reboot i get the blank config from the initial setup, however the good config is still stored in the startup config. Am i missing something? Its been a while since ive been working w/ these routers, hope i dont get flamed too much

It looks as if you have the correct command to copy the running config to flash, so that at next boot it starts with that config. You might need to take a look at your boot sequence. Also after your copy run start command show the startup-config and compare to the running-config to see if there are differences. You may also want to try the write memory command (write mem).

sh ver and check whether you see this:

Configuration register is 0x2142

If yes, do this after boot to blank config:

Router#configure t
Router(config)#config-register 0x2102
Router(config)#exit
Router#reload
