Hi all,

Is there anyone who could help me on the installation of oracle 9i. I have downloaded the Disk1,Disk2 and Disk3 folder. But whenever i want to run the setup.exe(oracle universal installer) file in Disk1, nothing happens.

Do I have to partition my system to run it. I us window xp sp2.
Thanks

Hi,

Is the version 9i R2? Prior to this relase there was some java issues with the installer when running on win2k/ or XP on Intel Pentium 4s. There is a workaround requiring the replacement of a couple of different java.exe files though the directories and loading the latest JRE versions. Try googling for a step by step guide if it this is the issue. If not, I sure someone else may have an answer.

Good luck

Hi. Perhaps notadba is referring to the necessity to rename any symcjit.dll files on your system (search all directories) to symcjjit.old or similar. That seems to be the most common difficulty with P4 machines. HTH.
