does anyone use linux for there java environment....
i am running the sun java 1.5 on my ubuntu box and i cannot find the java console... I wrote a servlet that outputs to the java console and i cannot find the console... please help...
Ubuntu is normally installing the gcj-Java, which is a open-source attempt to implement Java from scratch, but in several questions far behind the sun-java 1.5.
I'm using the sun-java with ubuntu, and there is a jconsole, and anything from sun-java worked like a charm till now with linux (8 years), so why should jconsole fail?
Uninstall gcj-Java from synaptic, and install the sun-java packages.
