I have Backup Exec 8.5 server edition running on a NT4 server. A week ago i tried to restore a file only to be greeted by an empty restore selection box.
So far I have:-
1. Re-inventoried and catalogued all tapes in media set.
2. Deleted all the temporary files, including the betopcat.idx file.
3. Renamed the "Catalog" folder and created a new "Catalog" folder.
4. Checked and unchecked the option to use the catalog stored on the media.
None of these procedures worked. There are no reported errors in any event log, and all jobs (backup/inventory/catalog) report successful completion.
The only thing I can think of that I haven't tried is a manual un-install/re-install.
Because of the nature of my business, I'd have to do this after mid-night and before 7am. Understandably I don't want to, so if anyone has any good suggestions I'd be happy to see them.
