Hi,

I have been backing up data with, what I thought, was no problem but now I have tried to restore the data I get an error messgae saying that the data is unusable.

I have been using the standard NTBACKUP utility within Server 2000 but I have now noticed that although the data looks as if it is being backed up ok, it is appearing as a file type "file", not a .bkf file. Hence when I try and restore the data I get the error message.

Could anyone give me any ideas as to how I can now restore this data and why the application is saving it as a "file" type and not a .bkf file?

For your information, the data is only around 20GB and is being backed up to an Iomega external drive.

Many thanks.
