Can't remove WIN98 splash screen

After repairing a current corrupted 98SE installation from cab files the final 98 splash screen appears on the desktop but doesnt have the optional lower left tick box to turn it off after closing.
I've tried it from within & out of the desktop but it still persists.
I don't know how to get it to not load on boot up.

Any suggestions?

Ah, probably not the correct term "Flash".. as that seems to relate to the preboot screen... but its the completion screen follwing any WIN98 installation

Ah.. couldnt see any help there.. Anyway, when all else failed.. use Hijack Now to remove the screen.. .worked fine..
