Cant remove "Disconnected network drive"

A drive mapping has appeared on a server running MS Server 2003 called "Disconnected network drive (S)". I am not sure how it got there but it is likely that someone has run the logon script directly on the server.

The Administrator does not have a logon script assigned so that is not the explanation.

The problem is that I cant remove this drive mapping. If I attempt to remove it either via Explorer or by using the NET USE command, I get the message, "the network connection could not be found". I have also tried "net config server /autodisconnect:-1" I have tried to re-map it but am told that "the local device name is already in use". I have re-booted but the drive is still there and pointing to the shared data area to which the S drive has been assigned in the logon script.

Can anyone please suggest how I can remove this mapping?

Have you tried in safe mode? I don't remember the exact menu option for 2K3 but try it without and with network connection.

Have you tried using the 'NET USE' command against the IP rather than Hostname?
