gurus,
an easy question for you guys/gals.I cant remember how to remove the declaration of logical volume i created (ex: lv_test). The thing is,if i list logical volumes, this lv_test,is not being listed. So i need to recreate the lv again using the same name, yet, if i create an lv again using the same name, errors says the name is already in use. And then i check the lslv lv_test..to my surprise it was there and some of the parameters were in "?". I know i did somthing that makes it inconsistent, nevertheless, how can i manually remove the definition of this lv? just like in etc/filesystems, is the any file also for lvs?
thanks alot!

AIXSPadmin,Thanks!

i tried that also, yet this is the outcome after doing the command you sent:
0516-022 lquerylv: illegal parameter or structure value.
0516-912 rmlv: Unable to remove logical volume lv_test.

Any other idea?

bonsky,

You need to do a synclvodm to update the ODM with the LV details from the LVCB:

synclvodm -v <vgname> lv_test

rmlv lv_test

This will work.

Cheers

thanks alot for your help! Oki,, i will try!

I had this problem a few days ago. I managed to clear it up by using exportvg and then importvg. Nice easy method , as long as it isn't in rootvg
