I have a new 2621XM router and I have configured up some of serial interfaces and 3 of them, for whatever reason, have clock rate 2000000 on them. I don't want them to be DCE's, but can't get rid of the clock rate. When I attempt to enter no clock rate I get an error saying the interface does not support a clock rate of 0. Here is one of the interfaces:

interface Serial1/0
description Ckt to oktulsa1 S1/4
bandwidth 1344
ip address 10.120.250.113 255.255.255.252
ip pim sparse-dense-mode
ipx network 132
fair-queue
serial restart-delay 0
clockrate 2000000

Any clues how to get rid of that clock rate? Thanks in advance.

Can you post a: show interfaces and show controller for serial 1/0.

You must have a DCE cable in the interface then. If you use a DTE then this disables the clockrate command. If it's set up as a DCE then you have to have a clockrate.

Chris.
