Can't remember what I did last time; but, I arranged DNS service to point to my Suse Linux server and have correctly routed port 80 to the server- No problem seeing machine w/ static IP as URL. DNS looks properly configured and has had plenty of time to propagate; however, still can't see machine w/ domain name as url...

Attempting to open 127.0.0.1 from server works fine; but when I point to host.domain.net I get a "connection was refused" error from Netscape...

I know this should be an obvious one; but TIA for any help...

What do you mean you correctly routed port 80 to the server? Are you using a router? If so, are you sure it supports loopback?

Try pinging your url by name, and see if it resolves to the correct IP address. Then, try your site by name through anonymizer ( and see if it comes up.

Router supports loopback...
cannot ping external public IP; but, opens in browser OK using external public IP IP as URL...

Beginning to think is DNS issue...
