I sent a message to myself from a yahoo account. The account replied that the message could not be delivered due to this error. How do I enable relay so that the mail can come to the server?

<will@jxxtech.net>:
65.40.87.47 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 5.7.1 <will@jxxtech.net>... Relaying denied
Giving up on 65.40.87.47.

I have the sendmail.mc exactly like this and I think this could be my problem. What do I need to change here? Note this is only the bottle part of the file.

dnl MASQUERADE_AS(`mydomain.com')dnl
dnl #
dnl # masquerade not just the headers, but the envelope as well
dnl #
dnl FEATURE(masquerade_envelope)dnl
dnl #
dnl # masquerade not just @mydomainalias.com, but @*.mydomainalias.com as well
dnl #
dnl FEATURE(masquerade_entire_domain)dnl
dnl #
dnl MASQUERADE_DOMAIN(localhost)dnl
dnl MASQUERADE_DOMAIN(localhost.localdomain)dnl
dnl MASQUERADE_DOMAIN(mydomainalias.com)dnl
dnl MASQUERADE_DOMAIN(mydomain.lan)dnl
MAILER(smtp)dnl
MAILER(procmail)dnl

Everything there is commented out with the dnl but you can go ahead and leave it that way since nothing there is causing your problem. You need to edit /etc/mail/access. When you open it, you may see lines that look like this:

localhost.localdomain RELAY
localhost RELAY
127.0.0.1 RELAY

Add your domain and public ip address to the list. If you host other domains, add them to the list also. Now you need to build access.db. To do that issue the following command:

makemap hash /etc/mail/access.db < /etc/mail/access

Now I do not get mail rejected, but the mail never makes it to my inbox. For example, I send a message from my yahoo account to my server. But the mesage never shows up in the inbox. The IMAP is running and it looks like the server gor the message but it didn't make it to the account.

to will@jxxtech.net

but when I IMAP the server and set the logon to will and pass to ******** the mail program connects normally, but no email is in the inbox

My real question is how do I make mail coming in for "Will" and there is an account for "Will" on the server. How can I make that message show up in the IMAP folder for "Will"

Is the client setup for IMAP? the default is POP3. If you only have the imap server running and not the pop3, then the request will not be fulfilled because the server that is listening on a different port.

No, the IMAP client is configured. I have been running a W2K server with Imail and using IMAP.
