Can't re-size with selection tool, why? 1

For some reason I can't re-size with my selection tool. I think I hit a hot key or something and the only way to re-size is to go object in the tool bar, then transform, then scale. How do I get back to re-sizing with the selection tool?

You might have mistakingly hidden the bounding box - making it possible to move an object with the selection tool, but not resize it.

Try going to View menu. If you see "Show Bounding Box", you hid it. Just click on Show Bounding Box and you should be ok.
