Hi to all expert out there!

I have an SMS 2003 SP1 installed with SQL2000 with AD installed too.
I went to system container in and add the sms server + full controll and push herit on all child ...
i have extended the AD schema.
made shure to create a new site in site and services mmc and add the appropirate subnet.
i wen through the proper settings in site addressing for each component + adduser admin for client push + set the site boundaries to ad + distribution point and all....
made shure that everything is according to my sms 2003 book requirements.
I have installed on a client windows 2000 pro the advanced client. and i see my systems management in controll panel. but when i go to action tab i have only these 2 option:
machine policy retrival $ evaluation cycle + user policy retrieval & evaluation cycle. i have seen at other places that in the systems management --> action tab has more option then that?
in advanced taq i see my sms site code with no problem.
when i go to sms 2003 console -->all system --> windows 2000 machine and in assigned collum it says assigned but no in client. I go to properties i see active null... client null + client type =null + client version =null + CPU type Null + smsassignedsite is my sms name + smsuuidchangedate =null + snmpCommunityName =null
I click on advertisements tab and i see my 4 advertisemnts but nothig is happening.
Question how the hell you can uninstall the client manually or remotley with the console???
i read about something like go to registry in HLK_machine\software\microsoft\sms\client\configurstion\client properties and look for sms client deinstall reg_sz file and change to true and go to services in mmc and look for the sms client agent and restart it but nothing happened.

if your boundaries are set up properly.....and they have been discovered...right click on the machine in the collection and Install Client...select Always Install or Repair > Run it > look to the client and view the Task Manager > Click the Processes tab and select to arrange by Title/Name > look for CCMSetup.exe, if this is running, then you are good to go...if that service never starts, you have a problem with your management point.

In your SMS Admin Console, goto Site Settings and then Servers > Double click your site server and select the management point tab. (There is also the possibility that you haven't even installed the management point). > if Use This Server as Management Point, isn't checked, check it > if it is, uncheck it and reboot your site server.

WARNING! DO NOT REBOOT IF YOU HAVE JUST CHECKED IT

after the reboot, go back into the same properties page and check the tab > select ok > your management point will now be installing > open Windows Task Manager on the site server and go to the processes tab > arange by title and look for MPSetup.exe > This is your management point isntallation running, this will probably take about 10 minutes. When this has completed, a new process will start up called CCMExec.exe.

Now try your client installation.

The reason you are not seeing many thing in the actions tab, is possibly because you haven't installed the agents. Under site settings > goto Client Agents (or something similar, cant remeber off hand) and configure the agents you require.

If you are still having problems, contact me, I also have a slimline EXACT guide to installing SMS and getting it up and running

any luck
