Hi all...

Ok, I'm near the edge.....about to do something I've
never done....CALL Microsoft on the PHONE and ask for
help. $35 for 30 min. you say? Fine. ---- Ok, I'd rather
ask you all...

I have a modest site, ( and got my
Web host to move me to a FrontPage Share Point enabled
server. Hey, I'm gonna be bad with my Lists, and surveys!
Not so fast....I cannot publish to the server.

I've done all the usual stuff. Tried to publish a NEW
SHare point template, tried to "add" a Sharepoint to the
existing site, and keep getting the dialogue box you must
be on a Sharepoint enabled server. Also I am unable to
see the "SERVER" function in the FP Tools drop down as the "SERVER" entry is grayed out. My Web lives on my "C" drive and I publish from there.

I have updated FP 2002 with both Service Pack 1 and 2 and
have the latest XP OS SP. Machine is stable and I can
routinely publish to my FP enabled server without problem.

So....sorry to be so lengthy, but I'm at a loss. Should
you have any ideas or guidance, I would much appreciate
your help.

Thanks to any and all.....and even if I have to call MS,
this group looks great.

Mabye i am reading this wrong but i think you are trying to run a sharepoint site on a webserver that has frontpage server extentions installed, and that is wrong. You cant run a sharepoint site on frontpage server extentions, you need Sharepoint server extentions.

to remove the frontpage server extentions from your server:

cd ..\..\program files\common files\microsoft shared\web server extensions\50\bin

owsadm.exe -o fulluninstall -p <port number>

You can however use frontpage with your sharepoint server with out frontpage server extentions it has nothing to do with each other.

But then again maybe i am not reading it right.

Greetings
