I have a home offcie wiht 3 PC's. The main PC has a shared USB Printer. It prints fine. The second PC prints to this shared printer just fine. The 3rd PC used to print but now won't. I have checked permissions, uninstalled drivers, re installed drivers. I have deleted the printer and re added it a hundred times but this 3rd PC just wont print. It says the printer is online and you can even access the properties (which come through the network) but you can not print a dang thing!!! I am going crazy trying to figure this thing out and wonder what on my 3rd pc is hosing up the print ability.

Please help!

Have you tried the win2k (assume they're all win2k) print troubleshooter? After initial tries to solve problem it should come up with option to really remove all current driver files for printer concerned, so you can reinstall them clean. This has solved a (different to yours) print problem for me - so might be worth a shot.

just a thought -- but on the pc sharing the printer, do you have any restrictions on how many people can connect to, or use the printer?

Thanks Wolluf!!!!!!!!! It worked!!!!!

Here is what I did:

(W2K Pro)

Go to printers and delete your printer.

Go into control panel then services and right click 'print spooler' and reboot the PC. This will dis-lodge the .dll files from the registry so you can delete them.

Next, go to C:\WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2
(Go to C:\WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3 for local printers.)

Delete everything in there!

Go back to the printers folder and add a printer! Thats it! I added the printer as a network printer, it installed new fresh files and printed a test page right away!!!!

I am sooooo happy!!

Thanks again Wolluf and God Bless Tek Tips!!!!!!!
