Can't print through data Switch using HP2200dn

hi

i have 2 pcs connected to a printer HP2200dn via Data switch
i want both of the pcs to print on same printer. but i get error "can't print document.. check your cable etc etc"...

can any body help, (by theway my cables are ok)

What kind of switch? Mechanical should be no problem but electrical may be blocking something.
And what happens if you leave the switch set in one position and reboot the system attached to that switch. You could be in a situation where the system needs a full time handshaking signal. Ed Fair

Try turning off bidirectional support. The switch probably is not allowing two-way communication between the printer and computer.

Also, since it the "dn" model has a built in jetdirect card, why don't you network it?
