Dear TTips,

I'm trying to fix a problem we have where we cannot print off emails which have been added to Livelink from within Outlook, i.e. the email has been dragged into Livelink using the Livelink plugin pane view on the left hand side of the Outlook screen.

After the email is added to Livelink it creates a subtype ID of 749.

It is this that we cannot print off when opening an internet explorer browser link to livelink then ticking the box next to the email and then clicking on the print function button.

The error is : Livelink Error: Error processing request.
[Print is not allowed for this Livelink object type.]

This happens whether we add the email into Livelink using Windows XP & Enterprise Connect 10.1 or Windows XP and Livelink Explorer 4.8.6.

Note: When dragging emails from Outlook to a seperate IE window (drag and drop window) and adding the emails this way - the subtype created is 144 and this prints off fine. Problem is, using this method doesnt embed the email correctly into the Livelink view and we cannot take advantage of the email tagging functions of the OTEmail module so we do not want users to be able to use this method (although I dont know how to lock this down).

Hope someone can help please!

If you go to all the livelink servers in this combination and look at this setting

server>/livelink/llisapi.dll?func=multifile.settings

you have to go thru admin.index and the multifile general settings
and enable the subtype for 749 would it print?

I know not a hundred percent as the print is just part of an activex control that the browser has form livelink. The print itself is just the function of your computer

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

Great advice, problem fixed - thanks very much :) Really was running out of ideas on this one.

Changing this setting didnt need a LL service restart either and its one of those global settings that only needs making on one server. All of the LES servers show that this change has been made now.

All testing and working fine - Many thanks for your help.
