Hello,

I work at a school, and now we just loaded some new images in a class room, but if you log on as a student, you can't print, as a administrator you can, and as a teacher you can.
So i thought it had something to do with the policies, or rights, but in other class rooms, the students can print with the same rights, and policies.

Does anybody have an idea? we use:

OS: Windows 2000 sp2
Novell client 4.81
Novell netware 5
Novell zen 3.1

When you say that they can't print, do you mean just in that particular classroom... And when they go to a different classroom, they can print?

Are they using the same User object when they login?

Have you checked the Users tab of the Print Queue object in NWADMIN32?

Good Luck.

hello salserocito,

Thanx for helping out.
Yes, they can print in other class rooms, and they are using the same user object. In the users tab of the printer queue the whole tree is added. We've added the whole tree to operators, but it still didn't work.

Thanx

Did you image the Workstations with ZEN? If so, you may want to check that new image.

Are there any workstations with older images on them? Can they print okay? If they can, than its definitely the image!

I would go through everything on that new image and verify that you didn't miss anything!

There is another fellow on this board, TheLad, who seems to be very proficient with ZEN. You may want to get some input from him.

Good Luck.

Hi salserocito,

We made the images with norton ghost, but we made a new image anyway, dubbelchecked everything and distributed the new images, and now the students can print. So it was the image, but we can't find what we missed. Oh wel, it works now.

Thanx for the help! Greetings,

Roberti

Gla dto hear that you figured it out. I know it can be frustrating tracking down these kind of issues.

Congratulations!

Good Luck.
