Greetings.
I've never had a problem going to File > Preview in browser and being able to see my web page before uploading until recently. (Dreamweaver CS5) Now I get message "this will update the file on testing server". If I say “Yes”, then I get "Put dependent files?" If I say "yes", the entire folder containing the.htm is published when I'm not ready for it to be, yet I'm still sent to a page that says "The webpage cannot be found." If I say "no", I also get the latter message.
I did do a couple things recently that may have affected:
1) Redefined site (Site > Manage Sites > New) when it looked like all the files had disappeared locally. They reappeared, but are there any settings in that process that may have caused this? This was BEFORE I experienced the above problem.
2) Edited the browser list (File > Preview in Browser > Edit Browser List) and pointed to .exe files on my C:\ drive under Program Files for both Explorer and Firefox. Was this correct? This was AFTER I experienced the above problem.
If you don’t think it’s either of these, what could have caused these messages NOW, when I’ve never had a problem in the past with the same program and same computer?
Thanks for any direction you can provide,
Paula
