Any assistance with the following would be appreciated:
My DVD player on my PC has worked fine until recently, when I installed Need For Speed II: Hot Pursuit; then updated the drivers for my 64MB ATI Radeon 7200; as well as installed all the latest Win'98 critical updates.
Now, when I try to play a DVD a prompt informs me that either I have insufficient resources, something is already using the sound device, or that the resolution is too and... and I need to lower it. Regardless of what the resolution is set to, it still gives the same message. I've killed every application via Task Manager, save Explorer; and still the message appears. I've tried both the ATI DVD player that came with the card, as well as the software bundle that comes with some DVD's. (In this case, I can't recall the specific name - it was on the Extended version of Lord of the Rings - but I believe it was "Instant Access 2.04".)
Has anyone else experienced this type of problem? If so, can you suggest a course of action? I'm leaning toward reinstalling the video card drivers.
PS - Nothing else seems to be affected in any way.
Perplexed at Win'98
