I just replaced both of the hard disks in a RAID 0 configuration that had been working fine until one of them failed (an IBM 75 GB with a known bad production run, but that's another story). After installing two new 80 GB drives and creating the RAID 0 stripe, then booting into W2K (as Administrator), Device Manager says the RAID drive is working properly.
Properties (in Disk Management) shows it as "Disk: 2," "Status: Online," "Capacity: 157065 MB," and "Type: Unknown." I did a "Write Signature" operation, and a "Rescan Disks." But when I right-click on the drive, "Create Partition" is grayed out, and the only option available is "Properties."
Does anyone have a suggestion as to why I can't create the volume, do the NTFS formatting, etc.? (No changes were made in BIOS). I have an ABit VP6 motherboard with dual 1GHz P3s, 1.5GB RAM. I've installed W2K Professional Service Pack 6.
Thanks...
