I am new to front page and very frustrated with my attempts to open my website on my server.
I click on File>Open Website and in the folder I type the IP address for my website. (My registration has not gone through yet for the domain name) I get an error message telling me that "The folder is unaccessible. The folder may be on an unaccessible volume or protected with a password" DUH??!! I know it's protected with a password, where do I put it in?
If I click on the Web Folders button on the left I get an error message that says "Some of the files that meet the search criteria may be missing from the list. Not enough memory available to complete the operation. Close other programs to make more memory available then try again." I have 128mb of memory, and FrontPage is the only program running. SHEESH!!! Am I doing something studid? or should am I justified in being frustrated?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

I use OPEN WEB to open my webs. Web Folders work only if you have gone throgh the process of defining Web Folders to your system. They are supposed to act just as regular folders on your system except slower. I don't bother with them yet. Yes, you can type in just the IP address but use the address of a Web Folder on your Web. A folder on your web site is not the same as a Web Folder. A Web Folder has been defined as the root of your Web site or a sub-web of the Root Web on your web. To define a sub web, first define a new folder under your root web or a sub web of your root web folder then right click on it and select Convert to Web Folder. Why sub webs. You can use Domain Name Forwarding to go directly to a sub web e.g. points to a sub-web. Once you have an IP address, you can poit any num,ber of Domain Names to the root web or any sub-web.
