Can't open .rptproj files

Complete install of MS Visual Studio .Net 2003 Enterprise Developer (MS Development environment 2003 ver. 7.1.3088). When I try to open a .rptproj file, I get this error message: "The application for project '\\machine\folder\file.rptproj' is not installed. Make sure the application for the project type (.rptproj) is installed"

(I read somewhere on the internet that the report designer is not installed by default and is located under the authoring tools but I don't see that listed as a group when I install Visual Studio .Net)

Any ideas?

When you are just in Visual Studio and you click File -> New Project .... in the New Project dialog box do you a Project Type named "Business Intelligence Projects" ??

If not did you not already install the client portion of reporting services on this machine?
