Can't open Outlook attachment

Here is the problem:

I got a few e-mails that had .rtf attachments that are actually also e-mails... And in these e-mails (now attachments) there were also attachments...

So now when I open the mail in Outlook and open the attachment it opens in Word and the previous attachment is shown as an icon. But when i try to open it it says Word cannot open Outlook attachment.

When I sent the mail back to the person who sent it to me he had no trouble opening it in word.

And also if he sent me just the attachment of the mail and not the whole mail in rtf format word opened it ok.


My first conclusion is that i might need an update of some sort i don't know.

I'm using MS Word 97 and Outlook Express 5.

try going into your settings for Outlook and make sure that you have it selected for the rich text format...
