Howdy:

Are you trying to open a link or a complete new browser window from the desktop icon??

If it is a link, follow the following command NOT the one in the Microsoft page..

Start>Run Type in regsvr32.exe urlmon.dll (copy and paste the command so you get it right). Then, press <enter>

Wait for the confirmation and then reboot.

Murray,

After I opened a web windowm I am trying to open a second new window from the task bar or start menu.

I ran regsvr32.exe urlmon.dll as you suggested. Ir ran OK. Then I rebooted, but the problem persisted. What do you suggest?

Thanks,

Jim

Have you checked your Taskbar to make sure a second windows didn't open minimized??

Murray

I think problem started when I opened a pop-up. Somehow the pop-up connected to my startup-auto-exec bat file. I could not uninstall the pop-up, so I deleted the files from the pop-up. Perhaps, the pop-up messed up the other program, such as IE

What do you suggest?

Thanks,

Jim

Very possible.. What OS are you using?? Have you ran an av scan or Ad-Aware??

Murray

Murray,

I am using Windows XP. I have Ad-ware, but it did not help. I have Norton Anti Virus, but no virus showed. After I deleted the pop-up files, the restore (go back) function did not work.

Thanks,

Jim

Lop is a nasty..

Go to the Lop website.. They have a removal download for you to use. Lop is one of the worst spy/adware out there.

Murray

I downloaded the uninstall, but it did not work. I thought I would try to uninstall IE, but it is not listed in the add/delete list (under control panel)

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
