I have an inventory database, <inventory.mlb> that is giving me fits. I'm running MS Access 2000 on my home computer <Windows 98, 2E> and get the following error message when I try to open it.

"The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time."

After closing the error message window I find that the file <inventory.ldb> has been created in the folder with the inventory file.

There are no other users on this computer, however the computer is connected with my other computer via an Intel Wireless connection.

This file contains a great deal of information and I would hate to have to re-enter everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well the ldb file should be in the same folder with the .mdb file so that's OK. You can try deleting the .ldb file. If it won't let you, reboot your machine and see if it is still there. A rogue .ldb file will prevent you from getting into a database. If that fails, you can Import the database into a new Db. Create a new database. On the Menu bar go to File...Get External Data...Import. Then select your troubled Db from the window. Then on each Tab in the Import Window, choose Select All the OK. This will import the old db into the new db. If there is some corruption in the old db, it will bomb on the Object giving it trouble. Usually a single record in the database can do this.
